In this important moment of so many achievements in the fight against HTLV infection, this traditional event, which takes place every two years since its debut in 1988, returns in its face-to-face format.
With renowned national and international speakers who will address the theme "HTLV: Breaking Barriers and Building Bridges" ( HTLV: Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges) , this edition's scientific program aims to promote important discussions, share experiences, disseminate the main advances and research, as well as how to propose solutions aimed at fighting the infection and diseases caused by HTLV. With this theme, it is expected that the XV International Symposium on HTLV in Brazil will continue to be the great forum for discussion about the virus and its interactions with humans, allowing barriers to be broken in the fight against this infection in Brazil and abroad. world.
As it is a multi-professional event, its characteristic is to encourage the participation of health professionals, researchers, members of civil society, undergraduate and graduate academics from different national and international institutions. Participation will be encouraged through the choice of the best works and the awarding of the “Angela Manns”, “Carlos Maurício Castro Costa” and “Márcia Maria Ferrairo Janini Dal Fabbro” awards. Included for the first time, the “Márcia Maria Ferrairo Janini Dal Fabbro” award will honor the pioneer researcher in the implementation of prenatal screening for HTLV infection for pregnant women and newborns in Mato Grosso do Sul in 2002.
